World class operational environment

Attracting experimental and innovative companies

One of the longest runways in the UK

and uncongested, unrestricted airspace

Cornwall is home to a growing, vibrant, competitive and skilled aerospace cluster. The region invests and helps businesses succeed through a commitment to developing the aerospace sector. Cornwall is located in the South West aerospace cluster, one of the largest in the world home to 14 of the top 15 aerospace companies. The South West aerospace cluster has the capability to design and build entire aircraft and employs in excess of 23,000 people.

Aerohub at Cornwall Airport Newquay is the UK’s only dedicated Aerospace Enterprise Zone offering tax breaks and planning freedom to tenant companies. The existing cluster at the Aerohub site includes MRO companies, flight training, UAV operators and more.

Cornwall’s operational environment attracts experimental and innovative aircraft operators from around the world with its unique set of resources, including segregated airspace for unmanned and space flight, access to maritime environments, engine and rocket testing, and one of the longest runways in the UK.

Cornwall Airport Newquay is the UK’s fastest growing regional airport offering excellent connectivity for investment and trade. The region has historically been a place for innovation; from mining in the industrial revolution to pioneering the first transatlantic satellite communications over Telstar in 1962. This innovation continues today with Cornwall Airport Newquay among the preferred sites to be a UK Spaceport, operational by 2020.

Join us in Cornwall as part of the South West aerospace cluster, one of the largest and most capable regions in the world.
